Amy a Blue Front 'Zon
Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(
And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
My brother David..he turns 70 TODAY...for the last six months or so he has been having problems with his right foot. First tingling, then pain, then wounds that wouldn't heal, then a couple toes turning color. I BEGGED him to go to hospital but he wouldn't,saying he was seeing doctors ( I call them QUACKS) One Doc would send him to a "specialist" who would send him to another Quack and of course this would take weeks to get an appointment. Last week he had an appointment with his cardiologist who said "you need to go to emergency room NOW" which he did. One hospital said he has an infection gave him antibiotics and sent him home but made him an appointment for next day to see a wound specialist at another hospital. Because covid is running amok here hospitals are short on rooms and caregivers.
He had tests done and they found a blood clot in his leg and said he needed surgery. Why didn't the other Quacks find this out is a mystery to me!
He had an angioplasty done on his leg last Saturday and it went well. The surgeon called me after and said he could loose his leg below the knee or at least a couple toes. Thank God his leg was saved but he still can loose two toes. No,he isn't a diabetic but I am.
Right now David is in a rehab/physical therapy place learning how to walk again.
My A1C was out of control due to me eating/drinking too much comfort food. Normally it's under 6% consistently but last check it was 16! and I was suppose to have catterac surgery which had been canceled because of it,and I cant see worth a damn. Last A1C at end of December was 8 so I'm on the right track and see the eye surgeon in February.
Thank God for my fid's! They are doing well and are helping me cope with all this
