I'd love to adopt it but know my dad would be angry with a bird that actually bit him on purpose and I'm unsure if I would have the time for the poor thing. I can offer plenty of love and space to fly and play as well as a sort of friend to chat with while I'm gone. If I had my own house, I'd just pay for you to send it to me. I really want to start helping birds that are put in this position. I'm happy you're trying so hard to give it a good home![]()
I,m just checking back on your post. How did you make out with your supprise house guest, the sun conure. Did he go to the vet, didyou ind the owner, was that the lost conure from the post on 4/9. Alison and sweetie pie![]()

We went to the vet this morning and besides being a little underweight he checked out just fine. they did a blood sample for free since I sorta rescued him and we are waiting on results from that. the little guys personality is showing. Since he is in a small cage and I dont want to put him in the birdroom till I know he is a-ok I let him out last night to fly around in my room. He landed next to me and said "up up" and put his foot up. So I put my finger down and he stepped up. I have to admit I was scared to death because he BITES a lot, but he did not bite me. The rest of the night he walken around talking to himself. He still screams for more than half the day, to the point where his voice cracks. ugh. So Clifford screams right back. I think they are calling each other.
Till this morning I was still telling myself that I cannot keep this bird, I just cannot handle two screaming conures....
But then he started singing "row row row your boat" and dancing, when I laughed at him he said "ha ha funny guy". Im pretty sure hes a he now, and now if I dont find the owner I have a BIG decision to make. Hes a talker! and very funny.
As far as the post on 4/9 goes, no response and it has been deleted. :-( I have had a couple of calls from parrot alert, but no luck....I'll keep everyne posted
I would save every birdie in the whole wide world if I could. I really would. It isnt just the screaming, its the new baby, the other birds, and Cliffird's issues, which take a lot of time to work through. Its the addtl vet bills and cage and food and toys and stuff. I have a budget every week for the other fids, and a small savings in case of emergencys, but this was un-expected and I do not have the funds to buy another cage and toys etc right now.....I have 2 jobs, I am a bartender for my second job so I can get him things one at a time, but I'm worried that it would be taking on too much. idk, i just dont knowwhy do I have a feeling deep down you have almost all ready decided. I wonder if the screaming would slow down oncce he and clifford get used to each other and can be in the same room. you.re really going to have your hands full with your new baby coming friday. IM SO AFRAID OF CRAIG'S LIST. I see the birds that are up for adoption on there everynight in my nightmares :-( I'm afraid that someone will falsley represent themselves and he will not have a good home.....I'm too scared to do thatWe recently rescued a sweet little nanday and ive posted an ad on craigslist to find him a good home. Im not asking a fee. But anyone who responds has been given a LONG list of questions to answer. From there ive narrowed it down to 2 potentials. Its worked out a lot better than i expected. Both homes are willing to email me updates, know his diet and have cages ready for him.its something to think on.
