Yay!

We had decided on a Meyers, but my inability to find a breeder I felt comfortable with led us back to the Crimson Bellied. In the end, I think we made the right choice.

I feel very comfortable with the breeder I chose, which was important as we'll be shipping the new baby having never met it. The babies are being weaned right now and should be ready to go home around the end of the month.

We're so excited we already have the cage all set up!

She abundance weans them which is one of the things I liked so much about the breeder I chose. So she thinks they'll be weaned around the end of the month. We're not sure which is ours yet as I've asked her to choose the bird she thinks is a best match for our family. And I've asked for DNA sexing just cause I'd like to know!

And yes, the wait will be hard!

We have only thought of a few names, but nothing great yet. For a girl I like Leloo (the orange hair girl played by Mila Jovovich) from the movie The 5th Element). Or maybe Pixie. We don't really have any boy names yet.

Any suggestions?

Congratulations! I too, am a new owner of a crimson belied conure, now 12 weeks old. what struck me first about them is their beauty!! I've owned a GC, and a Cinnamon before, but I just love the crimson. I've heard and read that they are more docile than other GC's, with a nicer temperment. It took mine about 4-5 days to relax before I got him/her on my finger, today I got kisses!. your going to love your bird, lots of toys are needed for these ones, and plenty of play time out of the cage. enjoy!!
