Ok! I want to paint a birthday card for my Mother, and i want to do a pretty, bright coloured bird/parrot in a cartoony style.

I've thought of doing a:

Rosella (not sure which type though)
Female Eclectus

Any ideas anyone? Oh and posting photos would help too :)

Black-headed caique!! They're already cute and cartoony looking with their ruffly feathers and big faces... hehe!

OR a Male Eclectus.. I actually did a painting of this photo:

It didn't turn out *that* good though and it doesn't have a background, since it's been a while since I've put anything on canvas hah.

Another one that I thought was fun to draw (Coloured with prisma colour pencils) was the Galah cockatoo. :)

Nawwww black headed caique is so CUTE! But my mum likes her reds.. :/ so im leaning towards the crimson rosella...

Oooh nice shot of the eclectus!

Hmmm, well as far as reds go.. you've already got the female Eclectus, sooo...

Lories!!! Hehe.. chattering lory?

Orrr a Dusky Lory.. though they're more orange, but merh.

I think some kind of a lory or lorikeet is a good idea. Most are colorful.

How about a beautiful male Plumheaded Parakeet? :)

If not a parrot, how about a Gouldian Finch? A Toucan would look good in a cartoony style too ;)

Eckie!!!! A Male would be the best :P Or a Male Barraband, they are pretty stunning =D

So many good ideas! I ended up doing a crimson rosella. Just have to paint the background and then I'll post a photo. :) Thanks for the input guys! Was so hard to decide...
