What is your bird's favorite way to cuddle?

Awe! I didnt know that about Ekkies. Do they 'wrestle' or let you tickle?

The Rickeybird's favorite way to cuddle? With my wife, in front of me. I swear he relishes rubbing himself on her head and neck when I'm around. Looks right at me, with attitude that says "she's mine; loser!"

Each is different I'm sure but I understand it to be a general species trait. Tickle? How'd you like to pull back a stub for a finger?

Wrestle? I can touch his beak for small spurts and have tried beak wrestling. He was confused and sort of tried to play but I wouldn't say he liked it.

Best I can do is kiss his beak (only light beak manipulation with my hand is permissible) and pet him whenever I want for a moderate amount of time.

Don't get me wrong. He's a total sweetheart, can be handled by almost anyone, seeks you out for attention. but he just has very clear touching boundaries.

They look very regal and proper to me, lol. Kind of like IRN's also no tickles. 😆 That's really cool to know, thanks!

JellyBean just loves to snuggle... If I am reading, he will bury is little head and beak in my hair and fall asleep... He is soo cute.. I often get a crick in my neck cos I don't want to disturb him..

The chicken loves to play fight. She likes to be on the table, and she'll fluff up and charge my hand, while I try to touch her toes, or her sides. She'll even growl when she "kills" my fingers, but she is gentle when we play. She seems to be a much more hands on bird than most ekkies. I tickle her belly when she's on her back, and sometimes play fights on hey back as well.

I love when EB fans her tail and squats down to charge, it makes me laugh because she could fit in a teacup. She's 58/59 grams, what in the world does she think she's going to do!? Or so I thought until she got my toes while I wasn't paying attention. You better believe that when it's my foot she's charging I start moving, hahaha. She's definitely the boss. 58 grams of boss.

Kiwi tucks her head under my chin.

Sweepea is a nose to beak bird.

Sally curls up into a ball on my shoulder and presses her face against my cheek.

Tusk just puts his head upside down.

Lila has always been a "not real keen on cuddling thank you" bird.

Maggie used to sit on my lap, and lay her head down sideways on my shoulder.

Wellllll...
I guess the Rbird's favorite special thing is to tunnel down my shirt (usually a t-shirt) when I'm sitting or reclining, then curl/wiggle around until he's comfy, and then freeze/hide as I rub his head and shoulders through the material. I imagine that the dark enclosure appeals to his lime-stone-burrowing instincts. He's silent at these times (half an hour or more), which is cause for rejoicing... and letting our eardrums re-set.

This is a fun thread!

I Love RB 😍 when I think that he actually is that loud at a steady pace for 30 years it gives me the giggles.

This did turn out to be so sweet, and seeing everyone with their sweet babies. I'm a little jealous that he's a shirt burrower.

Oh I can attest that Ricky bird has indeed kept it up for 32 years, having spent a good hour chatting with gail, in between his screams!

Mr. GoodWrench is an eye (EAR) witness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. I love you guys. You help me be proud of my little noise-factory!

He will give kisses for treats, he also pinches my lip when he wants food. I almost wish I hadnt taught him to kiss.

Here's the Rbird showing he's ready for bed... clicking, fake-wolf-whistling, and finally, a kiss!
Thanks for a fun thread, CherylCali! You and others help me appreciate my little boor!

So cute! He seems like he's a sweetheart with you. It's apparent that he adores you. I finally just saw him singing 'booty' that takes the cake. I can't stop laughing.
