I wave a toy in his face to distract him. I carry these with me all the time now. If my clothing doesn't have pockets, I stuff one in my bra LOL!!

Percy asks that you all please forgive his scruffy appearance - he's doing his best to finish his molt, the poor dear! Even the featherless rings around his eyes are bigger than normal

I don't think Percy looks rough at all His colours are gorgeous! That blue on his face is almost neon

I buy a big bag of them every second month - he looooves them and never seems to get tired of them. They are 'softish' and easy to rip up.
I also found a set of BIG circly ones, about the size of my palm, in super bright neon colours. They are much harder and too heavy told hold so I tie one to his cage bars for him to nibble on.
