I've been watching stuff on youtube from Goodbirdinc and from Birdtricks and both are going down the positive reinforcement trail, but using slightly different methods.

I have purchased one DVD from GoodBird, and I thought it was somewhat of a ripoff since it was 30 minutes of generalization and no specifics. Had she gone 90 minutes and done more instructional stuff, I wouldn't feel so apprehensive about buying another.

Birdtricks offers a whole series of 30 minute videos for the same price, but most likely only a few will apply to my specific needs.

What are your opinions of these folks (and yes, both are good) and why?

Well, yes and no. I appreciate your input. I have found lots of stuff out there, and here, but I'm looking for a sure-fire method for getting
1.) my macaw to step up out of his cage and not try to bite me and
2.) my conure to come out of her cage and stop being afraid of hands.
The Barbara Heidenreich DVD that I bought touches on the step up thing for the biting bird, but uses an almost closed had to deliver treats, and I'm a little afraid of losing a finger to a bird grabbing for a treat. He has gotten my thumb twice while trying to give him a treat.

I'll send you a private message....
