Wild Cockatoos

I took these shots this afternoon at my parents house of the wild sulphur crested cockatoos.

They are amazing to see in the wild in flocks. Every time we pop across the ditch we go parrot seeking, but every time I come home to Marley and Creighton I feel sad for them....

The internal debates of parrot ownership huh!

Allee, they are very loud. I was inside at the front of their house and could hear these guys screeching. They were in the very back of their yard at the top of the tallest tree and it was like I was standing right beside them.

I tried to get some more this morning but by the time I got the camera, they had taken off. They can be very destructive of the trees.

Wendy they don't thankfully. But they do love to hang out on mums clothesline and pull the pegs off the clothes so they fall to the ground. That and snipping the actual line so dad has to restring it.

I feel the same but I reason it with, my babies are getting a very blessed life with their every whim catered for.

This particular flock, visit my parents house twice a day. Once in the early morning and then again the afternoon. Those dead gum trees are very tall and it is a very good vantage point for them all to hang out.

They also see galahs, corella's and kookaburras. There are also the magpies, peewees, butcher birds, lorikeets and banana birds.

They have lots of trees in their house yard which encourages the birdies.

LOL! Typical mischievous cockatoo behavior! They just love the cause-and-effect of their actions!!
