Buzz the Timneh African Grey
Well my hubby and I went to have a look at the 7 year old Timneh African Grey that we saw advertised for 600.00........I just fell in love. When we phoned yesterday, the lady said that Buzz was very cage protective but really the bird is not that bad. With alot of love and attention I'm sure that we can break that habbit before it becomes a huge problem. Buzz, who we are still not sure is a male or female, is in really good condition. His feathers are clean and good, his beak and nostrils/cere are clear, his poops are firm and he is a good weight - no sign of wheezing or disease (still getting a check at the vets though). Even though the family he lived with could not spend all that much quality time with him I have to say that they kept his cage spotless and provided Buzz with good food and care.
Anyways just had to share......Buzz is settling in really well, he's talking, eating and drinking and I just love him to death.

Will post pics soon :)

Congrats! Cant wait to see the pics, its officially our first timneh on the forum!:D You should keep us updated on his progress, he's going to go through alot of changes, good and bad because of this big step in his life. Just have patience and never, never give up on him.

All these new Fids/People around here ... I think my head is spinning ... ... AWESOME though ... I think Timnehs are so underrated/under-appreciated, CAGS get all the attention, and Timnehs are just as great as Congos.

k this is really a random question lol but ah well, neway where do u get the lil bird icons TexDot33? Oh and hey congrats on Buzz:)

Congratulations on your new birdie!!! Thats so exciting. Good luck adjusting with him and to him. You are going to have so much fun!!

Originally I got the sun conure icon from another forum that I used to be on (until the forum crashed and I have NO IDEA what is going on with it) I have had to HUNT UP AND DOWN for the green cheek one (it took me 3 days to find it). I know that there are all sorts of icons like this (there are greys, macaws, 'toos) I have seen them for just about any parrot ... you can find them, just look around.

I KNOW THE SITE TO FIND THOSE HIP BIRD ICONS!!! HOLD ON ILL GET THE SITE IT ALWAYS TAKES ME FOREVER TO FIND IT! LOL( srry for the caps)

Heres the site...

its in a different language but im sure you can tell which birds are which.. i tried doing the language translator thing but it didn't exactly work that well... thats why you'll see like random language athen all of a sudden a word that makes sense lol

Yay! I figured it out all by myself (I seem to have trouble with the controls on this forum... ) Too bad none of the birds had blood dripping from their beaks...anyone know how to edit that in?

Im sure you can edit them on photoshop.

I know people who have edited the budgie ones to match there budgies mutations.. so im sure blood dripping would'n't be that hard! lol

I have those icons, and I've even got a green cheek one, :D you should have said you were looking for one. :D

Oh how rude of me, SORRY

CONGRATULATIONS
ON BRINGING BUZZ HOME.

I agree with Tex, Timmies are so underrated, yet they are beautiful birds, You are gonna have a lot of fun with him, and its great that he is eating/drinking and settling into his forever home already.

As his cage aggresion isn't as bad as you first imagined, it could be purely because he wasn't getting enough stimulation and human contact. I'm sure that once he realizes that he has human company 24/7 he is gonna be so different for you. I am so pleased for you and yep we are gonna want LOTS AND LOTS of Buzz pics,

thats so cool awsome...thanks:D :D :D

Congrats on the new baby! Now, you know that by getting a new bird, you will have to take lots and LOTS of pics or else... some of us here might get a little... anxious, LOL!
