Hi! Welcome to the forum!
I can't vouch for linnies as I don't know a lot about them.
I researched conures for a long time as I fell in love with a Sun conure around 5yrs ago. I looked at other conures but my heart was still with the sunny so that is what I got 6 weeks ago. The Sun's are notorious for their noise but from what I can gather, yellow sided are a bit quieter.
Cal came from an aviary and had only been touched twice by humans in the 3months she was alive. Once for a vet check, the other to be put in the carrier to come home with us. It took time and patience but now she is like a little velcro bird. She'd be on me all day if I let her. She's very sweet, was a bit nippy at first, but conures are like most birds, very intelligent and she doesn't do this now. There are pictures in my profile and videos in the "our birds talking" section if you're interested.
Only yesterday a man who used to breed conure's and other birds came into our shop and once he'd spotted her, we chatted for a long time. He was very VERY surprised she hadn't been hand fed and that was a huge compliment for her.
Of course any birds nature will be dependant on a lot of factors. The main one being that all birds are individuals and you never know what you're going to get! It doesn't matter if they're babies or adult rescues, they can all behave differently to how you were led to believe.
For example, the gentleman from yesterday has had a Senegal since 1987 that was hand reared by himself. His very words were: That bird is so grumpy that even after all these years he'll still bite you if you try any of that "step up" caper. He's the most anti-social, bad tempered creature I tell you! The only reason I kept him is because he's such a sod - reminds me of myself!

hahaha!
Brilliant!
Maybe someone will be able to tell you about Linnie's but I will have to stick resolutely to the conure side. Cal is more than I ever imagined and expected.
Good luck with your search and I hope you're paired with your dream bird soon!
