This is by far the best trick i have ever taught Fargo, maybe, it ties for first with roll over.. :09:

But let me introduce to you, trick number 17... Sticking his tongue out on command!!! Wooooooo!!

We have been practicing for a week or 2 now, i would point to my mouth, stick my tongue out and say 'tongue'

He would then lean forward and try and give me a kiss, but he always had his beak open and leaned, so i would reward him when just his tongue came out..

Last night he did it for the first time!!! I was SOOOO surprised, i took a video, but it was dark, so i got some great ones this morning even though its sometimes a bit hard to see!

They could of all been in the same video but i didnt want to make him just do tongues, so we did other tricks in between so he doesnt get bored

I need to think of something even more challenging for him, we havnt really done much with props yet, we are just doing alot of movements with the body, which he learns so quickly! :09:

I am not sure this trick was such a good idea, hes sitting next to me now just looking at me sticking his tongue out, and he wont stop :54: hahahaha

Yes he rolls over, he loves rolling over


I am making a video at the moment with all his tricks in it, he does 17, but didnt put 2 in (target and hi 5) but the rest are in there, instead of always being quick short clips


I think the credit has to go to Fargo, he surprises how quickly he figures the trick out, and then remembers it from then on!

You know whats funny, the breeder didnt think me and Fargo would be good for each other, as he would need to much work and wasnt friendly, so kept showing me this little sweet hen instead... Proved them wrong hey

I am laughing so hard my eyes are watering. He...wiggles the giant tongue when he sticks it out the side of his beak! I can't stop laughing. Now I have to know...because every single macaw I have ever came in contact has done it to me. Not that I let them mind you but they happen to catch me just right.

Has Fargo ever stuck his tongue up your nose? In your ear? Shoved it between your lips? How about if you wear glasses (this has happened to Lupe) have they touched the lens with the tongue and left that parrot tongue print? Have you ever finger wrestled with the macaw tongue?

Has your macaw ever stuck their tongue in a person's mouth because they just wanted to "kiss the parrot" and you told them don't do it to warn them but they do it anyway because the parrot asked for a kiss but alas they end up horrified your parrot frenched them?

Has anyone threatened to call the police to have your parrot put on the neighborhood sex offenders list? Oh the shame!
