Australian lorikeeet
Hi
I have an 5 week old Australian lorikeet and I was wondering if someone could tell me if I am doing the right thing at the moment I'm feeding him wet mix which I was given when I brought him . Is that enough for him at this age ? Any other tips would be great thanks

I have no advice to care for a young lori as I have never had one. ALMOST brought one home once awhile back. I've been look at this lori for over a year at the pet shop before I told my partner I would like to bring home "Chicken" the bird's name. I brought my partner there after visiting Chicken on a weekly basis for over a year, and I was given a okay to bring Chicken home. The very weekend we went to get him, he was gone....

One thing I do have to say, IF you don't understand or ever owned a baby bird before, DO NOT, and I mean DO NOT get one!!!! Try to get one as an adult!!! At least one that's been weaned for at least a month. Your best bet is to take him/her to someone that can show you how to properly care for him/her.

5 wks is pretty young,i hope you can contact the people you got this bird from, they're your best source of how to keep this bird alive.I bred and raise several species of parrots but have zero knowledge of lorikeets.Maybe some one will come along and help out.Maybe later you could post something about the trials of buying unweaned babies. It's a shame some one would sell them to inexperienced owners. Not your fault ,you just wanted a bird.
