Goffins?

Hi everyone!

I was just wanting some opinions and information on Goffins!
I just have my Alex at the moment, but I have been doing some research on different parrots and I love how intelligent cockatoo's are, but think I would be intimidated by their size and I know that Goffins are a bit smaller.
I'm just dipping my toes in the water with this, if I were to ever get another bird it wouldn't be at least for another 6 months so I would have lots of time to prepare and research etc.
But I also know that cockatoo's are quite jealous and I don't think alex's are great with other birds, so I guess some thoughts on that subject would be helpful as well!
Even as I'm typing this Bert is looking at me and nodding off to sleep, it's beautiful I feel so guilty looking at other birds! Any one else feel that way when adding a second bird to their flock?

I am a first time bird owner. And....I'm getting a Goffin! Too's in general are a more emotional and high maintenance species of bird. I'm just obsessed with Goffins and prepared to take the good with the bad. I don't know much about adding a second bird but I do know most birds get a little stressed when someone new is coming in and change in general. Good luck!

I guess we're just lucky. They now sleep wing against wing in their open night cage. All their interaction is voluntary.

I am the very proud owner of a Goffins!! I added Sugar about a month ago, while I've had Loki 8 months. The only issue I have is that Loki occasionally likes to try and "terrorize" Sugar by hopping on to her cage and chasing her around. Otherwise, after trying to initially make friends and she put the kabosh on that, they ignore each other.

My Goffin isn't what I find to be typical. She's not nearly as cuddly as most Too's tend to be, but I think that's just her personality. She's a bit prissy, while another members Goffin is a bit of a pig. I've heard Goffins that talk just as much as any other Too, while mine rarely says anything coherent. She doesn't really play, while other Goffins can be very very busy all day long. Again, I'm not sure how much of this is her personality and how much of this is from her previous home experience since I'm her second (and last!!) home and she's only 1.

The Goffin that got me turned on to them was very talkative, very busy and slightly aggressive (due mostly to his background). Yet he let me pet him, which few got to do (he lived in the front lobby of my Vets office in Upstate NY). He could be very loud with his screams, while my Sugars screams are only jarring if you're in the same room and it's small. Larger Too's can scream for hours off and on and be very loud to the point where even in single-family homes your neighbors can hear them (U2's, M2's come to mind). Honestly, I'm very biased. I absolutely love Goffins, they are by far my favorite Too I've ever encountered, as a species whole.

If you're interested in smaller Too's, look in to the Ducorps. They are about the same size as Goffins, so I'm told as I've never seen one in person. Also, I believe Bare Eyed Too's are about the same size as Goffins are often mistaken for Bare Eyed and vice versa, though I don't know much about either species.
