I would like your inputs on the cages quality and if it's money well spent. Also will these brand rust easily?

ahh... a personal favorite (sarcasm) topic of mine.

I've stated this story in a prior post or 2. However, it deserves continued exposure after what A&E Cage Co. put me through.

Bought a 40x30 Macaw mansion white cage from A&E through one of their "partners" a few months ago. Upon receiving the cage, I was shocked at what a mess it was. Rusty corners and edges. Obvious paint touch ups over finish imperfections. It literally looked like a 5 year old used cage that was dipped in water for a while. There was rust powder pouring out of the inside of the hollow tube frame. I promptly called A&E and they shipped me a new cage, while promising to pick up the old cage. 2nd cage arrives. Same story. Another call to A&E. John Lance himself responds to me. He's the president of the company. He promised to personally inspect a cage and send. I told him any color except white as I was sure I was dealing with a bad lot of white cages. Well, that was ignored and a 3rd white cage arrived at my house. And... you guessed it....defective!!!! So, 3 bad cages in my basement in boxes with a promise by A&E to send freight to pick them up. That never happened. What did end up happening is I had to scrap all three cages at my local transfer station. Luckily, my credit card company recognized what a disaster this was and got my money back. Don't buy A&E cages!

On the bright side, I ordered 2 Kings Cages (I had a second bird on the way at that time) and couldn't be happier.

i am the mom of three parrots:
Dorothy- African grey (cag)
Bowie- blue and gold macaw
Nellie- hyacinth macaw
Reggie- hyacinth macaw
Marnie- white bellied caique
That's so wierd I just brought home a brand new macaw cage for my new baby. It's an A & E cage in the "taupe" color (not sure what the proper name is for the color) I picked it up at my breeder/store it is in perfect shape. I love the cage! I wonder if it is a problem with only the white?

i got a kings cage, 32 x 23 and it is great. no rust or anything(thank god), the locks work great, feeder doors have covers to help with food throwing(doesnt do much, when a bird wants to throw food, they do. but its a nice touch) and overall just a good cage. i would reccomend it.

i just got a 40x30 a&e cage ,charcoal, and it was good the coating looked to be solid and the latches and locks and whatnot are all sturdy heck i even got an extra door latch/lock. the only complaint void thou it is was the angles for the seed guard are so off you would have to bend the metal to get them to fit. however im going to use plexy glass on the wall with laminate flooring so the seed guard is now a moot point

I've got both, Kings AND A&E. I have a King's model #506 for my Macaw and a model #406 for my Yellow Nape Amazon. My Amazon is 13 years old, and she's been in that cage just about her entire life. Cage looks still brand spanking new. :) My Macaws cage is going on 3, and also still looks brand new. I LOVE Kings Cages - with a passion! They are built like tanks, thick, heavy, easy to clean and VERY sturdy.

Like I said, I also have an A & E cage. I have the 36" X 28" X 68" Dometop in black. It's fairly new, about 3 months or so. And guess what? I love that cage, too - so far.

Now if I could have afforded another Kings Cage, I definitely would have gone with Kings, but so far I have no complaints against the A & E.

I guess I wasn't much help now, was I?
