Dogs are not prey animals. I am sure you will be very careful with Dusky, but it does seem a bit on the risky side to me.

2 Budgies, 3 Cockatiels, 6 GCC'S, 2 Crimson Bellie Conures, 9 Sun Conures, 2 Major Mitchells, 12 Eclectus parrots of various ages, 2 BF Amazons, 2 Hahn's Macaw's, 1 Red Tail Black Too
I don't see why not. I take Cocky for a walk in the park & he actually walks with me. That said we are both on the look out for danger.

I have also heard stories where birds have been taken from the shoulder of their owners by a hawk so we must be very careful.

Thank you both.
Funny thing, last minute Dusky did not want to go so we stayed. But now might have second thoughts of taking him. To be on safe side. Backyard will suffice .

I take Loco in the garden with me when I weed or trim the plants etc but yeah, you always have to be alert and watch where they are. I always keep him VERY close to me.

I do have two cats -Riply & Nano bites-
four snakes- china, dip & stick, and Grand Chahee-
my sister has friends who have 3 flighted parrots, a Blue & Gold, a Amazon, and a moluccan Too. I never got to handle them, but they were outside with her every time she started working with her horses, the amazon was always close to her, the other two were always flying around.. it was strange to see .. exotic birds flying around her head as she rode her horse.
