So yesterday I stopped by the bird shelter to see if any new toys would jump out at me that I thought Lola would like and while I was there I saw a Blue and Gold Macaw named Zircon that come up to me and started talking to me and going side to side in his cage when I would pass by and I cannot stop thinking about him/her! It hasn't been very long since I've gotten Lola and I don't want to be unfair and get a second bird but I can't help but think of Zircon at the shelter :( I hope he/she finds a home soon! :blue: I almost don't want to go back to the shelter because I am afraid I'll end up taking him/her home with me next time!

Any reputable shelter wouldn't just let you take him home on an impulse. So, maybe have a talk with them to see if they think your situation would be a good match. Or, if he is in a shelter, maybe he could use a foster home to get a break from a shelter setting..... even if you don't adopt him in the end.

Can you volunteer and foster there? I applied to volunteer at a local parrot shelter, and the volunteers can foster birds there. The reputable shelters usually won't give out a large parrot for adoption without a house visit and knowing your experience.
