Hi all, I'm new here and have a quick question. We rescued a conure a few weeks ago and learning each other every day. A big consern that seems to be growing is that Zeke, the bird is making out with my husband's hand while being held or his shoe while he's wearing the shoe. The bird has "chosen" my husband and will only let my husband hold him, care for him, etc. So is this "normal"? We don't like it so how do we deter Zeke from doing this? TIA

Thank you SharonC. This was our response as well, sorry that I didn't post this in my original post. Is this behavior normal? What is this behavior all about anyway? Will removing him each time eventually cure him? I am uncertain as to why he won't play with toys though, we remove him but he cries without end instead of playing. As a rescue, I'm sure that he has emotional issues but how to help him play with his toys and crying endlessly I suppose we have a lot of studying to do to help this bird.
