Eclectus making noise

Hi guys.

My name is Martin, and i am the owner of to lovely eclectus parrots. They are now 2 years old, and they never screaming, but they make a lot of sounds, almost like small talking all the time, so when we wanna watch some tv, or just sitting in our living room, they just keep making those sounds. It has been going on for about a year now, but now they are doing it all day all the time. Does anybody knows how to stop it?

And sorry for my bad english, im from denmark.

Thanks

Re: Eclectus making noise

Why do you want them to stop, they are trying to be part of the flock family.
My Abby jabbers all the time and more when I am not in the room.
I want her talk, she has her own personality just like kids...

They're birds! I much rather have them talk over scream. Mine chatters all the time and we think its adorable!

Re: Eclectus making noise

I agree, that talking means that they are happy and contented. Why would you want that to stop? It may not be convenient for you when you are watching tv, but your birds sound very happy. To me my birds happiness is everything. i would be happy if Ezmerelda chattered all day long.

Re: Eclectus making noise

I do know what Martin is talking about. Mine have their moments with chatting. If your watching TV the birds will usually try to compete with any noise by getting louder. It's funny if you turn up the volume so do they & if you turn it down they tend to talk softer.

I absolutely love the sound of all my eclectus waffle on. It's amazing how many sounds they do make. Although if my birds do get a little carried away i just ask them "Quite that will do" & give them a bowl of fruit or something. Busy beaks are quite beaks.

This morning i had the 3 youngest males inside for play time on the stand, they did get pretty rowdy because i was dancing around singing at the top of my lungs. I think they were objecting rather than joining in though.

Re: Eclectus making noise

When Kassidy isn't sleeping, she is talking LoL Especially when I'm not in the room she makes kissy noises and yells HELLO and WHAT ARE YOU DOIN? until I return. Today I was in my office on the phone with a client whilst she was throwing a fit hating to be alone... she questioned "what is that?" ... all I could say was thats a parrot throwing a temper tantrum cause she is alone :-)
