Bald patch

Hi! Can anyone help me to identify whats going on with my ekkie's feather? So previously when i got him around 3 or 4 weeks ago, i saw he got a bald patch on the right side near to his nostril, but today he has more of those bald patch also near his nostril but on the left side. He never scratch his face or preening his feather excessively. He also eats well. Is this something like regular feather molt? I really appreciate any information from you guys. Thank you

Sorry if the pic is too dark, i hope its still can be seen. I had to dim the light in my bedroom, my ekkie seems more comfortable and calm with dimmed light.

It doesn't seem too serious, and simply could be a patch that is taking a little longer to "fill in". He will molt in phases throughout the year, with outside feathers (and the white, fluffier under-feathers) falling out in due course of natural preening and being replaced with fresh (pinned) growth, which he will use his beak (or your nails, or rough-surfaced materials) to properly groom open.

I think dhraiden's take is the most likely possibility. There have, however, been cases where such small bald spots around the nostril region have been due to issues other than regular molting. You might want to do a search of threads by Taw5106 about her ekkie girl, Venus. I believe in her case, there was a suspicion that it might have been due to either weather related issues or a nare infection.

Thank you guys for your responses! 2 days ago i check his bald patch after i bath him, i can see some very small green feathers, i think this is the new feather that will fill up that bald patch. i keep watching his diet so he gets every nutrition he needs. He's a very picky eater, but i keep on trying :56:
