I had never thought of that way.
He is still such a love though. Mad at me one minute and wanting me to hold him the next.
I'm still not positive all the time what he wants but that's okay. I'm not positive about what I want all the time either.

I have a hearing problem and I'm not always able to make out what the birds say but my son and his girl friend heard it. It's the first time we've heard it from him. Yeti ... I've only understood hi, hello, and pretty bird (but he doesn't say it as often as Jingle).

Love when the drop the F bomb. Mine knows about 4 cuss words and thanks to a few friends I am sure he will never loose them because they fall out laughing every time he does it

ROTFLMAO! Jingle is quite outspoken...when it comes to cussin' their like sponges, must be the "exaggerated " way we say them! Doodle will pick up "piss off" I'm sure, and " stop being a A%@!

My 'Zon Sammy lived -for a few, short weeks- in a home with a few teenagers. Their mother was VERY adamant that they watch their language around him as he was just staying there briefly.
Surprise!! He learned something (probably repeated over & over when she was out of the house!) and now, he repeats it when he REALLY wants attention...he says "F**K-F**K-F**K-F**K YOOOOOOOOOUUUUU!!!", very, very loud. My neighbors hear it and think it's hilarious. Me, not so much! I usually hear it when I'm on an important call on the phone
It's SO amazing that they seem to pick up the saying that you LEAST want them to learn! I wonder if our body language, on hearing it, encourages them?

Hahnzel used to nip my fingers a lot. I'd say things like "ouch", or "stop it". Then one day she nipped me and before I could say anything she said, "ouch". Then, on another occasion she said, "good boy". Then one day she got me pretty good and I let "damnit" slip out. Sure enough, 5 minutes later, nip immediately followed by, "damnit".

Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)

She learned it in context.
I remember when we were force feeding her Vitamin A foods, and she picked out every carrot from her dish and chucked it out of her cage, while swearing at me... it was actually pretty funny!
You could not take that bird off my shoulder. She was a velcro bird and a half. A friend of mine offered a finger, and told her to step up...
She looked at the finger, looked my friend up and down, looked at the finger again, and blurted out "F#@% you! in her loudest bird voice...
My friend said "excuse me?"
So, Pecker repeated the phrase, and then pushed her fingers away, and stuck her head in my eye socket...
She learned it in context.

Fonzie (8month wcp) says a few phrases. When he tries to bite or flies off his gym and I pick him up... He says "pretty good bird." Since I have dogs, I usually take Fonzie with me to the bathroom when he's out. So I did what sometimes happens in the bathroom, and Fonzie did a perfect fart noise in return... Great!

We have a african grey, dyh amazon and I'm currently feeding a baby blue and gold. My DYH says quite a few things but is very shy and doesn't like to talk when he thinks someone can see him. My african grey on the other hand talks non stop all day like he's had too much coffee! we have tried to teach him a few little cute sayings and he just doesn't seem interested...but oh my we said some cuss words within ear shot of him (my husband cusses like a drunken irish sailor) and yeah just one time was all it took.
I was cleaning the hearth of our fireplace yesterday and setting up a new light for the living room and he kept saying "C'mere F%#ker!" the tone he uses is the most sweet like when he says "come'ere buddy" he just replaces buddy with something a little less pg-13....he knows quite a few cuss words now thanks to him overhearing my husband in the other room.

I bet if my galah ever starts saying anything except "hello", it won't be "gissa kiss" or "I love you" that I say to her over and over, it'll be the expletive I say when I get killed on the computer game instead.
