Will adding another new baby to the mix hinder my old baby from talking?? Old baby is starting to make clear words and I have heard if you bring in another bird they will stop talking completely...They will be in seperate cages, in seperate rooms, think this will help?? I really don't want my Old baby to stop talking, but I really want new baby....she is Blue and my son is dying to have a bird of his own to bond with him...Help!!

Your parrot probably will not stop talking if you add another parrot to the flock. Sometimes it works just the opposite way, with both parrots being more vocal, and they often will learn words or sounds from each other. Just be sure to give your first parrot a full measure of love and attention just like always.

So two birds is ok?

The breeder I got my bird from told me birds are better alone. Or they will not bond with you. I was not planning on getting one soon, maybe in a year or two.

Two birds can be fine together, but they should always be housed in separate cages to keep them from bonding with each other rather than with you. They can be let out to play together, if they get along well enough-- but they should always be supervised. Even parrots who like each other can get into little squabbles now and then.
