So I discovered the coolest thing yesterday!
I was taking a walk with my friend and his dog, and I saw some huge nests in some trees and along telephone poles near my friends neighborhood. I was immediately curious and wondered out loud what kind of birds live in there, and then I saw two little green heads poke out and look down at me from one of the nests! I was like oh my goodness, those are quaker parrots!! y'all there were at least a hundred of them around the area judging by the amount of nests. Just little beauties yapping away in the trees and flying around the area. I was so pumped.
I knew someone had to have written an article or something on how those little cuties because a wild species in my city (Austin, Texas) and sure enough I found this webpage that explains it all.

thought it would be cool to share!

Oh yeah, they're in a lot of places, places you would never think they could live year round, like Brooklyn and Connecticut. I saw a flock of at least 300+ the last time I was at Coney Island and the Rockaways! They were EVERYWHERE!

There's a couple of colonies in Brooklyn (one at Brooklyn College and one at the Cemetary). They live nicely on discarded pizza crusts and the like. These are very communal birds and make large "condo" nesting. They're tolerated because they are cleaner than the pigeons they drive out of the area they are ranging in.
