Changeing floor in bird room?

So, I have carpet in the bird room and we are taking it out and putting down a new wood flooring that already has the finish. My question is how long do I need to keep the bird out of the room and will she be ok. I think they hafto put down glue for it to stick. Thanks for the answers! Oh and how far away do I need her from the room while their doing this?

It would probably be best to keep your bird out of the room during the entire process, and until the glue is all finished drying. Just for safety allow the entire room to vent out for a day. You can keep the bird in any other room, but its probably best if there is a door separating the bird and the room.

They're gluing it down to the existing subfloor?

My hardwood that I installed in my formal dining room is floating. It has a tongue and groove lock that snaps together, you add a few drops of wood glue to the groove part, tap it into place with a pry bar and you're done. There's no fumes or odor and I installed mine myself is less than a day.

The reason I ask is because hardwood floors need to breathe. If they're floating and installed 1/4" from the wall they can expand and contract with the hot and cold air and swell with humidity without doing damage. The last house I owned had hardwood flooring that was glued down and it actually buckled under the humidity.

I don't think it will be glued so I was told just now. It will be stapled and hammered down to the sub floor.

If that's the case you shouldn't have any issues....I would still remove the birds out of that room for the time being as dust would be flying, staple guns going off, and such....I know IF I'm doing any sort of pounding work or close, my birds starts to scream like no tomorrow, they don't like that one bit!!!!
