Attached is a image. That is my room, and the cages are holding my birds.
Extra Large Cage (Brown) = 2 Cockatiels
Large Cage (Black) = 1 Quaker
Medium Cage (Blue) = 1 Rosy Lovebird
Small Cage (Purple) = 2 Zebra Finches
Every single day, these birds get fresh water dishes & fresh food. The ones that I take out of the cage are the single birds, the quaker + lovebird. I do not take them out at the same time though . They eat Zupreem Pellets (except for the finches) as well as some Kaytee Forti Seed Mixture. Some times I will feed them various fruits when I can handle preparing everything for them and putting it in their cages. Oh, and some nutri-berries too. My Quaker loves eating those. He is the most tame of the bunch considering he lets me hold him when out of cage.
What I wanted to ask for is just some basic suggestions for an owner feeling out of touch with his birds. To explain, I feel like they aren't as active/happy/chirpy as they should be. Therefor, this causes stress on me because I always feel like I'm not doing my job despite the fact I feed them every day.
Could it be that my birds are still very young and just not being as social for this reason? I don't understand why you get the sense that birds in some pet shops are much more active/happy?
Also, how could I get my Lovebird to sit with me on my bed and not fly from me? His wings have been clipped, once, but I don't believe I would do this again.
suggestions would be great
