This is actually from a while ago but I just found the picture (not me in the picture).
This was after a Lion Dance practice and everyone was heading home. I luckily found him/her on the sidewalk uninjured. He (just to simplify it) was very passive and allowed us to hold him. I'm not sure what happened after since I left early, but hopefully he's still around.
I wish I knew which bird this was, the beak seemed HUGE for a chick.

Looks like some kind of dove or pigeon. I can't tell any more than that because I'm in Australia and we don't get the same kinds of birds. :)

I don't think that's a dove/pigeon. I've raised babies of both and they don't look like that...however I'm in the midwest and Hawaii is super different, bird wise. I'd guess its some sort of shore bird, something not quite waterfowl but close, considering the beak. Like a heron or something.

It was really cute, it made me think about taking him home, but I didn't how to care for it and the diseases and bugs must have been festering.

At first I thought it was a pigeon too, but that makes a really good point. I'll be researching water/shorebirds.

It looks almost like a seagull. We often see the babies looking like that in the spring and summer. That would be my best guess and yes it is werid that a brown chick turns into a white and grey bird but it happens.

It's similar to a sea gull, forgot the species but they're very endangered. On my iPhone, when I get home I'll tell you the type of bird.

Okay, I think I might have found out.
I had to look through every single bird that's found in Hawaii and found the Spotted Dove (the feet weren't webbed). However, it would have been even cooler if it was an Ashy Storm Petrel, they look so cool. I know which bird youre (Colorguarder08) talking about, and they live in the tree's around there which is funny because it's in the middle of town.
