Hi all. Quick question Iā€™m hoping someone can answer. I am moving into a new apartment and asked if the appliances or carpet was new. The appliances arenā€™t so I donā€™t have to worry about that, but the carpet is. They installed it after the previous tenant moved out Iā€™m guessing that was the end of dec. It has been airing out for at least a week that I know of, and I wonā€™t be moving in for another week still.
I heard that formaldehyde is no longer used in carpets is this the case? Also should two weeks be enough time for it to air out anything that could be harmful to a parrot? Thank you!

I am not so sure about carpets, but it is great that you are doing the research. Yes, I agree with the above, just see how severe the fumes are. If need be find a friend or family member to take in your baby for a couple of weeks if you feel that it is safer! You seem like a very responsible parrot owner.

Good luck! I hope your parrot and you enjoy your new apartment.
