As I think of certain things that I'd like to post, I can't help but wish we had a "private" section here... Just for the eyes of members only.

A section for when we don't feel entirely comfortable blabbing or venting stuff of a more personal nature for literally everyone in the whole wide world to view, but might be something we don't mind talking with members about. For example: illnesses, life situations, misfortune, things we're not proud of but would like to say anyway, birds with diseases, and other various subjects...

They do have this feature on a species website that I'm a member of. I can say that it really comes in handy at times. People don't really say "personal" matters on that site like they do here, so maybe all the more reason to have one HERE!
It can be "members only" or "private room" or think of a more clever name for it like this other site has. I believe if you're not a member the section doesn't show up on your screen.

What do you think Mods? :45:

My birds: Skyler/Sky, violet Indian Ringneck. Mother's birds: Norman, African Grey and Mildred, Blue Crowned Conure.
I think it would be a good idea.

The easiest solution for that would be to create your own SOCIAL GROUP. You can name it whatever you like, and ONLY members will be able to see what's posted in it. :)

I didn't know either, Terry. :54: What I did is I logged out, and then tried accessing the Social Groups, and I couldn't. :D

Thanks Wendy:). I just wish there was a more visible link to 'Social Groups'. The only way I can see a link to get to the list of what groups are offered are by clicking under your own or (someone else's) user profile.

So no forum? Okay :19: I understand 'adding' a section would require some I.T. work restructuring of the website. I guess not worth it unless of course TONS of people here wanted it too ;)

It's super easy to access the Social Groups. You go to the top and click on "Community", and on the drop down menu you choose "Social Group". No need to click on anyone's profile, as most members don't even belong to any social group. :)

And yes, if you wanted a new category (sub forum), then of course Admin would have to do this, and it would have to be one where ONLY registered members would have access to.

I'm merely giving you a really simple solution to your initial question/request. :)

GREAT idea Julie

Ya know, maybe Amin could create a sub for contributing members only too
(nice extra to offer contributing members)

We had that on a forum I was a gold member on, it was nice having a place where only the contributing members could talk of things

I also like the members only Idea, I know this is a 20 day old thread, did anyone ever ask admin?
