He will step up but won't stay up so I'm mainly just rubbing his belly a little today. He did not like his introduction to the shower yesterday.

Is that why he's mad at you? Pumpkin came with me to shower today and he didn't so much enjoy it, but was just watching from a distance. Anyway, birds get mad, but they will get over it. When Pumpkins mad I tempt him with millet, by morning he's forgot that he was mad and we are friends again.

No. He just won't step up or if he does he gets right back off. Maybe not exactly mad but something

Did you have him on your hand while in the shower? Maybe the experience scared him and he needs to learn to trust your hand again.

Yes . I think that's it. He has only bit me twice. On days 3 and 4 he escaped his cage and did not like being g caught. I'd bite too if I were him. Other than that a fairly mellow guy. I'm even the day he bit me a few hours later he let me touch him.

Is he fully tame yet? Maybe you're moving a little too fast for him. That can set things back. Trust is a fragile thing.

No not fully. It was too soon to try a shower. At least he still lets me touch him.

Yes that's good. Just start over from the beginning. He will come around soon enough. Just take it slow. For the first few months I wouldn't try anything special, just focus on building trust.

I would put a perch in a position so he can see you having a shower and let it be his decision

The only other advice I can give is
1 move slowly around the bird
2 let the bird come to you.
3 Don't force the bird to do anything that it doesn't want to do.
4 make the trust building and bonding sessions (training) fun
5 end all training sessions on a positive.
6 patience.

Remember food is a great motivator.
