Age and gender ?

I was told my alexandrine is 7 months old. But i think he is over 1 year old, the ring on the neck started to growing and it is a male. What do you think ? Here is a picture of the bird.

Your baby is gorgeous! I would also guess that he is older than 7 months with his ring that pronounced. I've always heard that they usually start to get a ring at around 18 months, although that may vary.
