How much more work is a Amazon compared to a Sun Conure?

If you're asking who needs more one on one time, then the answer is there is NO difference. As for making messes, I'd say they are equal. Of course a sun conure won't eat quite as much as an Amazon, but the difference there is minimal at best.

ALL parrots are work. I call it "labor of love".

I'm asking because I had a Sun Conure and he was great. I want a Amazon but I'm reading all these horrible things on the net and now I'm rethinking it. I actually originally wanted a tribella cockatoo.

My Sun Conure was playful, fun and always let me know when it was play time. He was part of the family and my aunt would come over just to see him

My amazon is a blast, he is fun, playful, curious, noisy, demanding.
He is part of the family, he is a companion and not a pet. It really depends on your expectations and the time you spend with them.

Amazons (my YNA's) were fun, loving and loved to snuggle. they were playful and had such huge personalities that you can do nothing but love

I love amazons they are very good talkers and they are not noisy as conures.
