apple seeds and cores

Is it ok to give my parrotlet apple seeds and cores to chew on once in while.

No seeds, they contain small amounts of cyanide which could make your bird sick. The rest of the apple is okay, just not too much as fruit does contain a lot of sugar 🙂

Yeah go easy on the fruit. Much like human children, parrots can get amped up with an excess of sugar bearing foods. And definitely no apple seeds or any fruit seeds for that matter.

I didn’t know about apple seeds until I came on the forum.
Plumas my OWA loved to eat them first off an apple slice.
Plumas died from something looking like seizures or stroke.
Related to apple seeds…… I have no idea, Plumas was wild caught so his age was unknowable.
