I was talking to a breeder this morning regarding the intitial set up for a baby conure and she expressed concern about the size of the flight cage I'd planned to get being too big for a baby.
I've heard you should get the biggest cage you can for your budget but she said the baby might be nervous in such a large cage. I really can't afford two cages unless I get some cheapy little one and then upsize to the larger one later on.
Is there anything I can do to make the larger cage seem more homey until baby grows into it? Is it better to have several toys in the cage prior to placing the baby inside or should I leave it mostly bare and add toys later as baby gets more settled in? These are the things I wonder! I want everything to be just right.
