So Ximichi, how have things been developing?
I Would like to hear how things are going with you.

All my eggs have hatched. I ended up with 3 healthy chicks.
My biggest question about my chicks is that they all had yellow down.
Because the male is a whiteface I thought I would get at least on with white down indicating some combination of whiteface and cinnamon (mothers color mutation).
So far all my pictures are of three yellow lumps, cant see the face.
When I manage a good picture I will post it.

Actually, last night I had a big scare. My male flew into my room and got caught under the beak by a hook. He seemed really upset last night but when I checked on him earlier he looked a lot better.

Onto the babies: I see some movement in the eggs when I candle them! All except the first are progressing very well- they are growing at a steady pace! In about three weeks will be one month since the last one has been laid.

My chicks are healthy and doing well too.
I think I see a hint of cimmamon in mine.

Is the down bright or pale yellow. I read pale yellow means split to whiteface.

Glad to hear your eggs are developing well. that sounds like good news.

My male got out of his cage yesterday. He is not hand tame and is kinda high strung with the baby chicks in the cage. That could be what caused your bird to get stuck under the bed. They seem to be on a hair trigger because of the eggs/chicks.
I wish I could put the birds with chicks in an area that has less activity but I don't know where that would be.

The pictures don't come out real well. nest box is not well lit and I don't want to use a flash.
When I was posting the top picture I noticed that the second hatched chick (on the right side) does look lighter more towards white compared to the other two.

So, two of my chicks have opened there eyes.
First hatched tentatively named Mango has black eyes.
Second hatched named Angel definitely has red eyes and it looks like the feathers that are starting to grow in are white :D

I have been looking over lots of web pages that show pics of different color mutations and made a discovery.
My whiteface is not just a regular whiteface but a pearl whiteface.
I don't know how that will change things but I think the chicks will be even more beautiful than I first thought.

Happy news! My first chick came a day earlier than expected. I'm so happy! Anyone have any idea what mutation he might turn out to be? Both parents are normal Greys.

I hope the rest of them do well also.

Mom and dad eating lot's. Not spending as much time in nest box.

I think they will be Grey's also, but I am no expert at mutations.
I don't understand why I have what looks like a lutino when
Mom is a cinnamon and dad is a Whiteface pearl.
Texsize.
PS.
I think you have to wait until after the first molt to tell true colors

they look cute, how old are they?
What kind of mix? Looks like a pearl grey or pearl pied.

I had a long night last night. Long story short I had to make up a brooder for my babies to sleep in last night. Had to check and monitor temperature all night.
Everything came out ok, Parents are feeding and taking care of them again.

Mine are 4 and 5 weeks old. One of them I think the youngest came out of the cage all by itself today and is flying all over my room.

Both of them are flying already.

They are learning to step up.

Im glad yours are all doing ok.
