I've had Finley my BF Amazon for a month now!! He had adjusted well. We have a routine set. He gets a bit anxious at bedtime. I thought he would not be so anxious by now since he has adjusted so well to everything else. He goes to bed same time every night, gets 11 - 12 hours of sleep in a dark room. I keep a nightlight on and I only cover part of the cage. He doesn't like it completely covered. He just seems nervous or anxious and he flaps his wings which seem to be in protest. He is better than he was but still doesnt like bedtime. Is it that some birds just don't like bedtime?? My quaker and IRN scream to go to bed, they love bedtime. I just want him to be comfortable. He's sleepy before I put him to bed so I know he is ready.
