Conure breeders in Melbourne?

A good friend of mine is looking into getting her first parrot, she asked me to help her find a good breeder and she wanting a hand reared conure. Not sure which kind yet, so we wanted to look at a few different sub species, so she can decide which one she would prefer, which one is best suited to her. If anyone could help us out that would be great

Maroon Bellied, Dusky, Green Cheek, White Eyed & Nanday, in that order of preference.....I've either owned or fostered all of these species, with my maroon-bellied conure living 27 years.....

Species, not subspecies, you mean???

I do know of some breeders in Australia, but unfortunately, many are over 700 km away... and one breeder I don't know what her location is... Did a search and came up with this breeder. If he doesn't have what you are looking for, maybe ask for references to other breeders in the area?

The pet shops down here are hopeless! But I will have a look at the breeder you found thanks!

I bought Birdy from a store called Mad About Pets in Ferntree Gully - I highly recommend them. The breeders' name is Kay, she raises all the conures and she also runs the store.
You can find dozens of conures there. Most of them are hand reared and the ones that are are very curious and placid - they love to crawl up the side of the cage closest to you when you come nearby, and they won't bite you if you touch them!

Ferntree Gully may be far away from you, but if your friend lives in the Northern Suburbs I can organise a meet-and-greet with her and Birdy!
They can spend a few hours getting to know each other and she can get a good idea of what it's like to look after a conure - PM me if you are interested!
