My little boy turned three on July 4. I brought him to the beach for the day. I took about 100 photos but here are a few, and a video. :)

And, a little video clip of him flying with me.

Didn't bring my real camera, just my phone, but they are still pretty cute. The following day my friends brought a bunny on the beach to hop around. I think the bunny got more attention than Gilbert! (Maybe because the people on my beach are used to seeing him with me and it's not every day you see a bunny hopping around the beach).

Happy birthday Gilbert :)! He is so cute, and looks like he's having a great time. Why are the beaches SO much more clean and beautiful there as compared to SoCal beaches? LOL!

I know people complain about NJ beach badges, but I am grateful for the pristine, well-guarded beaches. (I pay $30 for a seasonal badge. I don't feel that is extreme.) :)

Technically May-September, they are not allowed on the beach. I will bring the dogs in the evening and the bunny came up about 5 PM for an hour or so. Gilbert is there all day and it's fine. The lifeguards are used to him, the badge checkers think he is cute, and nobody minds. I assume, he is a BIRD....birds live on the beach, therefore he is allowed. ;)

Ah, that makes sense, and I can see it's worth it. I wish CA put some funding into keeping the beaches here clean and safe. The beaches are very dirty here in SoCal even in the "nicer" areas. Crime is there too esp. at night. Sad what the beaches have become in this day and age in a place once stereotyped for the nice sunny beach! Anyway, I'm not going to derail the thread, and I'm glad you and Gilbert had a wonderful 4th of July! Easy birthday to remember :).

I LOVE Gilbert's expression in the first, second, and last pic with you... he actually looks like he's smiling and on cloud 9 lol. I love it :D. Did the bunny enjoy the beach too?

Happy hatch day handsome!

Here in Houston they actually tell you that you might die if you go into the ocean the water is so disgusting. The beach is okay, but the water is filthy.

Happy HAPPY Birthday, Gil!!! :smile015:

What super awesome photos! OMG! You've got me drooling now, and actually considering going to the beach perhaps just once this season. We're only 15 minutes from the beach (Belmar being the closest one), but I'm not a huge fan of the crowds. :32:

Have you seen any Portuguese o war jellyfish yet?

I haven't seen any and I go to North Beach (one day while in N Beach, there were some that washed up in Harvey Cedars, the next beach up....I got creeped out because I was in the water a lot that day!! LOL glad I heard about it after the fact.) I also really don't like crowds and I get kind of stressed out, so I like North Beach for that. Very quiet and not crowded. If you go there, send me a message and if I'm around i'll bring Gilbert!

OK I was just looking through my phone at the photos again and I really like something about this one too, the perspective I guess....and come on, you know we all wish we could fly like our birds!!! I am happy for him and envy him at the same time.
