I have a huge parrot room in my basement with some small windows lots of UV full spectrium lighting ferns and fake plants

I have a lot of c ages and stands also with countless toys

I was wondering is it good to stick with parrots from the samer general area in this type of setting?

These parrots probably can and do meet in the wild and may even live together

They probably understand each others language better etc..

I know this theory is done a lot by cichlid owners splitting african and south american but we all know these are no fish lol

what you think on this concept?

Like you said, they're not fish. I'll assume you don't mean leaving them out together unsupervised.

Generally speaking, it probably is a good idea to stick with parrots from the same region.... after all, macaws are prone to respiratory distress when housed with dusty birds (cockatiels, cockatoos and greys).

That said, many people keep mixed flocks! I have Australian and South American parrots "together". I've only once had a bird from another region and that was a lovebird.
