Parrots
Bailey, the Yellow Nape Amazon
Hi everyone. I recently got my very first parrot! I have always wanted a parrot. Bailey is an 8 year old Yellow Naped Amazon. I am already TOTALLY in love with this bird! He has already became a mommy's boy. He is a good talker, and loves to laugh and has a bit of a mischevious streak! He loves to pull my 10 year olds hair, and laughs when he does. He doesnt bite but does like to mouth fingers, hair, clothes, what ever he can get in his mouth.
I am looking for any feed back on ways to train him better. thanks and much love
Bailey and Kyla

Welcome! You have a beautiful bird!

As for training out undesired behaviors, the best way is positive reinforcement, clicker training. The gist of it is reward positive behavior while ignoring negative behavior. It is pretty ez to do just takes time and patience.

Google "bird clicker training", and there are several articles at theparrotforum.com that the forum moderator has written about training his birds. Including videos. (I have no affiliation with that site, it just helped me quite a bit).
