How long should it take to fly after clipping?

Bongo got his wings clipped about 5 weeks ago, but can now fly better than he did before! Is this typical, or just a bad clip? Is it because of the time of year and new feathers coming in? At first after the clip he could just barely fly, but is now going room to room... haha Should I get it redone?

What are your typical experiences?
