Hyacinths are supposed to have stainless steel cages for that reason. Try having that huge beak nibble on your hand for a good hour while you play with him. I have been visiting a hyacinth for a good week & a half now and everyday my hand is bruised, puffy and swollen afterwards!

Have to chime in here. I live w/one. She is a dear thing...VERY SMART...and has a good vocabulary that she uses appropriately. Well worth the investment if you are able to do it. My life would be much poorer w/out her.
