Hello Everyone !
This is for my baby parrot who can't fly !
My parrot is of the Indian parakeet species and is 1 year 3 month old . It has yellowish feathers (rather than green like how it ideally should be) and can't fly at height (drops to the floor after 2 seconds of flying )
It was flying well up until 3 months of age when it developed difficulty flying with a clicking sound from its wings when it flew . It's condition deteriorated gradually and now my parrot can't fly and looks yellow in colour .Also one of his feet is bent inward

My parrot is one of three babies . The daddy parrot and mommy parrot have been with us for 4 years. The mommy parrot also had a milder issues of the yellowish discoloration but could fly fine. My baby parrot mostly feeds on red apples and sunflower seeds and get sufficient sunlight .
Has anyone else had similar problems with their parrot ?
Could someone please help my baby parrot ?? :( Just yesterday he hurt himself real bad when he dropped to the floor in one of his flying attempt

To be clear, has your baby always looked that way or was he born green and then turned yellow?

Are there any vets in your area that see birds?

Do they eat vegetables?

Do you have access to bird pellets?

yes, I agree, something is very wrong with your bird, and you need to find a Certified Avian Specialist Vet to look at him...he needs to have blood work done to rule-out some serious diseases that effect parrots in this way...

Also, a diet of "apples and sunflower seeds" could also be a huge part of the problem, as that is feeding him nothing but sugar and fat...He needs lots of fresh vegetables, healthy seeds, grains, legumes, etc., and ideally some fortified parrot pellets, if available...Little fruit as it is full of sugar, and sunflower seeds, millet, etc. should only be an occasional treat or a training aware, as they are loaded with fat...So your bird is getting no real nourishment at all, and has been missing all of the necessary vitamins, minerals, protein, etc. that he needs...So that definitely isn't helping the situation, but you absolutely need to get him to an Avian Vet asap...

Currently I have none, but I have the capacity to adopt a minimum and maximum of two budgies - preferably a bonded pair or two males.
Hi Sreenidhi

Which part of India are you from? By any chance are you from Hyderabad or Bangalore? In Bangalore, you can approach the WRRC.
