Can anyone advise me here - my brother-in-law owns a Cockatiel who is around 4 years old.
The Cockatiel was observed making clucking noises rapidly and breathing as if he was gasping. This lasted for around five minutes. This happened one week after he was taken out of my Conure's room (they had brought him to stay at our house and put him in the same room as my Conure, then took him home after we returned).
Today (three weeks after the first time), he is showing the same behavior but it has lasted for the past hour. He is also shaking slightly and moves away slowly when my brother-in-law puts his hand in the cage (usually he tries to bite him).
To my knowledge, my own Conure is in great health and he certainly isn't showing the same "symptoms".
Is the Cockatiel sick or is there some other explanation?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
