Late Night Snack.

So I try to go to sleep... only an hour ago to be woken up by a rattle of a chain.

And then its the Morning squawk, and grunt.

Then more chain rattling.

Then slowly I open my eyes and its still dark outside...

But the bird is insistant, constant and complaining.

Because I forgot the fundamental most important thing about bedtime...

The midnight snack.

I've been weaning Porter off of seeds, and that is what I used to put in the cage at night.

So the last couple of nights... no midnight snack as I transfer him over to pellets and Nutriberries.

Tonight he would have NONE of it.

So I sit yawning as he sits on my shoulder and devours a nutriberry. ...

Am I the only person blessed with a bird that wants to eat at 4 in the morning?

And quite obviously tells me so?

And will not. Take no for an answer?

Staring at me indignantly in the dark.

Eating...

And now happy content beak grinding noises and he's going back to bed.
So am I... and never again will I forget..
