It was only a matter of time, but I've caught MBS and have been wanting to add a second bird to our flock. With my birthday conveniently a few weeks away, my husband has given the green light to, "appease my birthday wishes." He has admitted he would also like another, but is proving to be the difficult one. We discussed the conure needing a home in the adoptions section, but he's not what my husband is wanting, so the search continues. I don't have a specific species in mind that I just have to have but I am drawn to Asiatics. I've never bought from a breeder, but came across some adorable 4 month old, fully fledged moustached parakeets for a very reasonable price. I've talked with the breeder and we've asked each other lots of questions, but the one issue I have is she's pretty persistent that we need to buy two because she doesn't think most birds do well singly. I made it clear I am only interested in one and she still wants to set up a meeting, but that was a bit of a red flag to me. What difficulties, if any, have you had buying from a breeder? We came across Clover by chance and instantly clicked, so we haven't actively searched for the right bird before. Any suggestions, tips or stories about finding your babies are appreciated!
