Saturday we picked up scarlet s/he is about 7 months old and very sweet not nippy at all will step up to anybody. Says hello constantly to everyone.

DNA sex will be back anyday, still working on a name

Where we got Scarlet from there was another scarlet there named Icarus. I think that's a cool name for a scarlet. If Icarus does not ring a bell Google it.

Scarlets also have a history with myan mythology

Sometimes it takes a while to come up with the right one so I have a bunch of names picked in the event I should happen to aquire any more macaws (don't let my wife see this) I think a super name for a Hy would be "Liberty" for a Military or Buffons; "Signal". For a Greenwing; "Howard" and for a Catalina; "Sunkist"

So true, we renamed our goffin to Binky because she is such a baby

Our scarlet is a girl. We have been calling her Scarlet until we got the sexing back.

I think we are going to stick with Scarlet as the name of our scarlet macaw, I know real original
Unless her personality really stands out demanding a name change.
