So I work on getting Merlin to come to me when i call him from different places in the morning before work in the afternoon sometime and then before bedtime. I just stand away and hold my hand out by him sometimes up high so he has to reach up for it and sometimes normal and sometimes low and he will hop sorta when I call him but today I finally got him to fly over to me!!!! It was only about 2 feet that he flew but he did it!!!! I am just so happy I had to share with you! Oh and i thought he was heavy before but the.impact of just that little flight boy hes strong lol! And here's a pic of him :)

Marcia, that is so exciting! I bet it was quite an impact as big as Merlin is and as small as you are:) He is so beautiful!

That is so awesome... Rio and I just started on her recalls. Everytime she flies to me, makes me feel so honored that she actually flies to me. :)

Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
I felt the exact same way the first time one of my birds did that!

It really is quite an accomplishment to get them to the point where they will fly to you on cue! It's both a training thing, and a bonding thing.
