Greetings from sunny Florida!
My name is Beck, and my Quaker has finally put his foot down- he's sick and tired of sitting on my shoulder while I surf the forums without introducing my feathered prima donna
This is Moche (aka Mochmeister)!
His hatch date is 05/08/11 (our birthdays are just two days apart!), so he's almost seven months old. I purchased him from a specialty bird shop/breeder at around four weeks and visited him as often as I could until he was ready to come home with me.
(I probably should've cleaned up a little before showing off his cage, but who would I be kidding, right?)
It seems like he's pretty quiet as far as Quakers go, and I think he enjoys chattering more than screaming. He's a huge mutterer, and has just now started saying some recognizable phrases ("go potty!," "step up," and "what's up?").
Lately we've been working on getting comfortable with his harness. He seems to enjoy short trips to the park, but getting it on is a little stressful for both of us. He seems not to mind much once it's on, but he does chew at it a little, and he's definitely more stubborn about stepping up from my shoulder when he's in it. I'm not sure whether we should slow down, or if it's something that will come with time?
His favorite game by far is rolling around and hiding under the covers. I'll throw the sheet over him and he'll walk around babbling underneath it until he finds his way out and squeals with joy.
He's on ZuPreem Wild & Spicy mix pellets (which he eats yellow first, then beige, and leaves the green- the little goober), which we usually mix with dried veggies. I also make up little containers of daily servings of fresh cut up peppers, zucchini, carrots, etc, which he gets in a separate dish. If we're having quinoa or chicken, he usually gets some of that, and his absolute FAVORITES are scrambled eggs and chicken bones, which we give him about once a week.
Anyway, that's probably enough about my little guy, so if you made it through all that, thanks for reading
Oh, and because I'm a bit of a nutter, I'm attaching a couple more pictures for you guys if you want to see the OTHER love of my life, Bodhi the French Bulldog.
Can't wait to meet everyone!
