Good evening everyone,

I hope everyone had a good weekend. My cockatiel's behavior has changed lately (his name is calvin). It all started about 2 weeks ago. He's been more vocal lately, (he's been screeching usually in the afternoon or evening), and he's been regurgitating for his favorite toy (it's a little plastic bird). How can I get him to stop regurgitating? Is this just a phase? Calvin is about 23 years old I got him when he was 15 years old. He is usually quiet he chirps but he rarly ever sceeches (until recently) Other than the screeching and regurgitating he's been acting like he always has.

He is old for a tiel. He is probably a bit hormonal. Try giving him longer nights.

A visit to the vet might be good as well.

Put him to bed earlier and wake him up later.

More sleep time, less awake time.

That's one behavior I have not seen is Cockatiel regurgitating on something. As they do not feed each other that way, only with the chicks. He is getting up in age....
