Pedicure Perches

This popped up in another thread. Is a "pedicure perch" the sandpaper-wrapped perches we seen in budgie and finch cages?

I had read (somewhere) that sandpaper-wrapped perches should not be used for larger parrots because the skin on the bottom of their feet wouldn't tolerate it.

Like many of the "things we find on the Internet", many are bogus.

Should I have a pedicure perch for my BFA? What type?

Thanks,

Forbey

The main branch he has is thickest close to where it attaches to the cage and tapers towards the end. With the toys, perch, rope, food and water dishes, there isn't a lot of room for perches. I'll have to see about rearranging the "furniture".

How wide is Skittles cage? Let me see if I can dig up some pics of how I furnished the Amazon cages. :)

Ok, this is still Sam's "old" cage, before I upgraded to a dometop

And this is Hunter's old cage on the left...she is in a different one now, too...but you can still see how I "furnish" them. :)
