Redness/swelling on one eye

Just tonight I noticed one of Ducky’s eyes has a little swelling and redness around it. Does this look like a scratch/injury, slight irritation, or infection? Should I bring him to the avian vet tomorrow? Here are some pics:

It doesn't look like it is affecting the eye, just the area above it. Maybe just a scratch or abrasion. I'd say keep it clean and if the swelling gets worse tomorrow a vet trip may be in order. Try not to worry it is most likely nothing serious and worrying gets picked up by the little birds. Keep us updated and you and Ducky get some rest.

Ollie had a scratch like that once by the eye. I called the vet and they said unless it gets worse or gets crusty with puss or spreads to the other eye, it's fine. Birds will be birds! Ollie was healed in about 48 hours. Vet did say a good old fashioned drenching or bath especially of that area can help it clear up.

Update: woke up today and the eye is exactly the same as last night. I will be observing it for a few days, and if it does not get better, I will contact the vet. I’ll keep you posted.

Vet appointment scheduled for Saturday morning, just to be on the safe side. Will cancel if Ducky’s eye improves before then.

Great news! The area around Ducky’s eye appears to be improving. Still not totally normal but I will be canceling the vet appointment. Here is a pic from today:
